League of Legends has gone through a plethora of changes and upgrades to become the game we know today. Among these changes, certain champions rise to fruition while others tend to stay low while bidding on their chance to come to the top again. However, Twisted Treeline is an anomaly to this rule.
If a certain champion is strong, it will stay strong, and when the map is compressed to this level, you’re bound to get champions that break through their shells to become threats that are able to survive back-to-back nerfs while retaining their spot.
So, on that note, let’s take a tier-based look at how League of Legends champions fare in Twisted Treeline:
Unfortunately, Twisted Treeline is No More
Twisted Treeline was removed from League of Legends because the development team wanted to focus on other game modes and because they had originally intended for alternative game modes to be played for short cycles.
It’s possible that the game mode was not as popular as other game modes, or that the development team felt that it was not contributing as much to the overall player experience as other game modes.
The most popular reason is that Riot Games had already planned to introduce rotating game modes to League of Legends, and despite Twisted Treeline flourishing with a decent player count, Riot could not give precedence to a game mode over the others. Therefore, it had to go.

Will Twisted Treeline Ever Come Back?
As things stand right now, it’s hard to say – especially when Riot has committed itself to releasing new and better game modes. Twisted Treeline was removed back in patch V9.23 – on November 19, 2019, and hasn’t made a return since then.
Considering Riot Games can’t always re-rotate League of Legends between Unsealed Spellbook and Ultra Rapid Fire, we could see a possible announcement pretty soon!

This list has been intentionally made limited to the champions that were available in Season 9 since there’s no way of testing the performance of the newer champions without the mode being available.
Conclusion
It is not currently known if Twisted Treeline will be brought back to the game. However, one can always be hopeful.
Considering the game has gone through a massive change since Season 9. Now that LoL Season 13 has arrived, it’s fair to assume we will be met with a different tier list for Twisted Treeline – given the mode comes back.
