League of Legends has given us so many Champions throughout these years. One hundred fifty-seven of them, to be exact. Among these Champions are various Classes, Roles, mechanics, so many different things that one article wouldn’t be nearly enough to name them all.
But these Champions are not all pleasant to play against, with or as. These are what we would call Toxic Champions. Toxic Champions are there to annoy us, instill rage and hatred towards them, and whoever decided it was a good idea to include them into the game.
Also, these Champions tend to have toxic players behind the keyboards. It is something of a marvel to see such toxically designed characters be paired with toxic people. At any rate, these Champions are bursting with toxicity, and we’ve compiled this list to show just that.
With that out of the way, these are the 7 Most Toxic Champions in League of Legends!
7. Teemo
Starting off, we have the worst of them all. It’s best to get him out of the way before it makes me break my entire PC just writing about him. This Champion transcends any concept of toxicity we have. He is his own category, and we all hate him, his category, and whoever designed him and approved his addition to the game.
Teemo is the best Top Laner in the game currently. He can dominate 99% of his matchups, and there is barely anything you can do to stop him. The only Champions that can cross paths with Teemo are ranged marksmen who can actually get some gold and XP from the Lane minions. Melee Champions facing Teemo are in an instant-lose position, as they will be zoned into oblivion and unable to get a single minion kill.
Teemo is a dominant force on the Top Lane and has been for years now. He brings with him total chaos wherever he is played and drives the opposing side mad with his toxic traits. Despite all of these defamatory statements about him, I still consider him a great Champion to play. He has a ton of damage, mobility, and versatility – all qualities of a good Champion.
Pick him up while he’s still hot, but I don’t guarantee you’ll be playing him often due to the constant bans he gets in the Champion Select.

6. Darius
Darius is the most dominant force on the Top Lane, save for Teemo. He is the primary melee Lane Bully that you can find in the Lane and generally in the game. Most players that come across Darius will lose instantly because they don’t understand how the Champion works.
His toxicity comes not from himself but from the people who cannot grasp what he’s all about. That speaks volumes of Darius’s amazing design, and I think he still is a powerful and fantastic Champion that everyone should try out. However, he is toxic, which cannot be denied. Despite the toxicity stemming primarily from others, there is some still within his kit that I’ll elaborate on.
His spells deal way too much damage for convenience. From level 1, Darius can eviscerate health bars with only his Q and his passive. These two spells alone are toxic enough to warrant a spot on this list. His W, E, and Ultimate are all their own stories, which would make this entry too long if I went into them separately.
All you should know is that they deal obscene amounts of damage, only amplified with his passive mentioned above. It can grant Darius so much extra AD and strength that it’s ridiculous at times.
You should all try him out and become one with the toxicity. I have crossed the dark side and began maining Darius years ago, and I’ve never been the same since.
5. Lee Sin
Lee Sin is the most toxic Jungler out there. With insane mobility, long-range, and a knack for stealing your camps – he just finds ways of annoying people. Lee Sin players are also not among the most honorable of all, with tons of them being toxic jerks who will never actually say anything intelligent in the chat.
Lee Sin players are also wild egomaniacs, driving you insane both as allies and enemies. I’ve rarely met any Lee Sin main who can generally speak with people and coordinate an attack, strategy, or just about anything, really.
Speaking of the Champion himself, he can achieve insane dominance over his opponents using his extraordinary abilities. When played by the right people, Lee Sin becomes one of the best Champions in the game. However, there is a huge skill gap between a good and bad Lee Sin player, which kind of ruins the Champion’s status in the community.
He is immensely popular and thus has many great players playing him. I would suggest you give him a try sometime as you might become an amazing Jungler in the process.

4. Irelia
Irelia’s toxicity, apart from coming primarily from herself, is also significantly attached to the players that main her. I’ve never met an Irelia main that wasn’t a total a-hole and jerk in the /all chat whenever he did something good (or bad). It’s incredible how the most toxic Champions always have the most toxic player base. These self-aware people wish to pass their toxicity into the game without risking getting banned.
Irelia is insane to play against. Seriously, she can obliterate people without even breaking a sweat. Her mobility makes her impossible to catch and pin down, and the damage that comes along certainly doesn’t help the situation.
I’ve had so many games against Irelia, and I never know what to expect. At times, I win without any issue, and sometimes she wrecks me so hard that I’m embarrassed to play the game for days. It’s that randomness and abruptness of action that makes Irelia so unbearable.
I’d recommend her to you, but she’s so challenging to master that I think you should stay clear. If you want to spend the time and effort learning her, make sure you don’t rush into a ranked match first-hand. Take your time and study every aspect of her. There is a lot to unpack there.
3. Yasuo
Yasuo. Oh, Yasuo. The Champion has been my nemesis from the first day he was released. I think I hate Yasuo more than I hate my worst enemy in real life. It is incredible how that hatred has remained constant over the past 8 years, and counting. I still haven’t purchased Yasuo and refuse to do so. This entry just might be a little bit biased against him.
His mobility, power, and non-existent cooldowns paired with no mana requirements make Yasuo so stupidly overpowered. He can spam and do whatever he likes without any actual resource management as a factor. Dominance is something that comes naturally for him; however, his toxicity does build up throughout the game.
As opposed to some of the others on this list, Yasuo is easy to prevent from getting too strong too fast. However, he will inevitably get powerful no matter how hard you try. You can only delay his snowballing, and instead of happening by minute 20, it’ll be minute 25 or similar.
This is what makes him entirely and ridiculously brain-numbing to play against. I hate him, and everyone should hate him.
If you want to play Yasuo, I won’t stop you. Just keep in mind that I will hate you for doing so. Most of your friends, as well.
2. Yuumi
Yuumi is a benign and innocent entry on this list. Her toxicity comes from being too good for her allies. So good, in fact, that the benefits she has for her team turn into some insane toxicity for the enemies.
She won’t dominate you personally but assist her allies to do so. With helping others, she exerts some extreme toxicity over her opponents. Ah, the sweet irony.
At any rate, Yuumi is simply here because of her ability to heal and buff her allies. She has some ways of damaging and annoying you directly, but they don’t even come near the things others on this list can do.
Yuumi is hated, yes, but you shouldn’t hate her as much as the rest of this list’s entries. I recommend you actually give her a try since she isn’t that bad, after all.

1. Riven
Riven is a Champion that is so complex that it’s no wonder her mains are complete jackasses. I mean, come on, if you spend that much time on a Champion only to be obliterated by some Teemo player, you have a right to be mad. Riven mains are among the vilest, uncultured, and downright evil people I’ve met in the game. And that’s not even scratching the surface.
The rest of her toxicity comes from herself. When played by the right hands, Riven is the strongest and best Champion in the entire game. I mean, no Champion even comes close to what is achievable mechanically with Riven’s kit. At first glance, it is so simple– yet it carries so much complexity and versatility that it’s insane to even think of.
I think that Riven is Riot’s love child. However, she is so difficult to play that not many people can unlock her full potential. I’ve never won a game against an excellent Riven player. I’d commend them for it, but they’re all so high in their egos and manias that I just can’t. I’ve, as said above, never met an ordinary Riven player in my life.
I understand their constant frustrations if they fail to do something they’ve practiced so much. But for God’s sake, at least have some decency. At any rate, Riven is a great Champion. She would be greater if she wasn’t so hard to play. I respect everyone who does well with this Champion and still has some sense left in their mind.
I’d recommend Riven, but she’s far too difficult.
Conclusion
Toxicity is an inherent issue of League of Legends. It is an inherent issue of online gaming in general. Champions in League of Legends can be toxic by themselves, but they won’t directly impact the players. However, acting like an ape in the /all chat, being toxic to your allies, and generally ruining the game for everyone is a bad thing. Some player bases of certain Champions mentioned above are truly abhorrent, and I wish they find it in their hearts to be a bit better. I wish you the best on the Summoner’s Rift to all the good dudes and dudettes out there. To the rest, well, you can just go f yourself.
