Since the beginning of League of Legends, the Runes and Mastery System has existed. However, the old Runes and Mastery System has gone through its fair share of updates and has been replaced since Riot Games introduced what is known as the Runes Reforged Patch, which took place at the beginning of Season 8. Even though there were changes, the Rune system still remained as an important piece of League’s strategical gameplay, and with that, you have Rune pages, where everything is set.
As with most of the League of Legends in-game products, the Rune pages can be purchased at the League of Legends store that is found in the client. So, just follow these instructions if you want to get more rune pages in League of Legends!
Step 1: Go to the League of Legends Shop
Step 2: Click on Accessories
Step 3: Click on Rune Pages (this is on the list that is on the right side of the client.
You can use Blue Essence or Riot Points in order to purchase the individual rune pages. The bundles, however, can only be obtained using Riot Points.
Individual Rune Pages
You can buy Individual Rune pages with Blue Essence. If you’re a free-to-play player who doesn’t put any money towards the game, this is a major advantage for you. To buy an individual Rune page, it’s going to cost you 6300 BE or 590 RP. If you’re familiar with League of Legends, you’d know that this is a reasonable price. The advantage here is that you will be able to purchase a controlled amount, which is good, especially if you have a small champion pool.
Rune Page Bundle
As of right now, the only way for you to get an available bundle in League of Legends stores is by paying 2600 RP for the 7 Page Bundle. When you compare this to the price of individual pages, the bundle will give you 7 pages for the price of 5. Unfortunately, for those individuals who aren’t able to purchase RP, this can be a disadvantage. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t buy those individual pages yourself, even though it will end up being more expensive in the end.

The Importance of Runes in League of Legends
Runes are a quintessential part of your strategical preparation for League of Legends. They give you an edge over preparing the current champion against the matchup or just playing it to its strength. When you use Runes, a variety of ways of how you can play your champion will be opened up and it will boost the potential by a huge amount. You should learn how to build your Runes properly in order to get the most advantage out of it. When you properly build your Runes, your champion regardless of which one you choose can become dangerous and this means they will be a bigger threat in the match.
While Riot Games have been putting champions through nerfs and buffs, they haven’t been ignoring the Runes. Runes have also been through nerfs and buffs. Runes are an element that developers would like to keep their focus on and there’s a good reason behind this. Keystones have come and gone since the Runes Reforged patch, you can still find many of the original Runes that are still available today. It’s a good idea to take the time to learn which Runes go with which champion on each patch as this will give you a better chance at winning a match.
The biggest change in the Runes Reforged system is the fact that players can change their Runes during the champ select pages given that you have at least 1 purchased Rune page from the LoL store. Learning how the Rune combinations work is a great way for you to improve your gameplay.
The Benefits of Having More Rune Pages
While having multiple Rune pages can have its disadvantages, there are also advantages. Having multiple pages, for example, will lessen your preparation time because you will have pre-made pages for the specific champion you plan on using, and in return, this is going to eliminate the need for you to worry while you’re preparing for choices like summoner spell selection, champion selection, and even during a pre-game discussion with other team members.
As I previously said, though, when you have multiple pages, this can also have its disadvantages. When you have a long list of Rune pages, it can get intimidating and confusing. So, instead of giving your more preparation time, it will increase your time spent on choosing which rune page you should use. There’s a solution to this issue though. All you have to do is label/name your Rune pages, which will make it easier for you to choose, even if you have a large list of Rune pages.

Is There a Limit for Rune Pages?
Yes, there is a limit for Rune Pages. The highest amount of pages you can buy in the League of Legends store is twenty-five. This brings the total amount of Rune pages to thirty because this number doesn’t include the 5 preset pages you have when you first start League of Legends. Honestly, I feel that this is more than enough space because most players on LoL will only use 4-10 pages on average. Of course, you have those really experienced players who will only require one. If you plan on reaching those twenty-five pages, then you should save up enough BE or RP to spend on this amount of pages for your LoL account.
Could I Use More than One Rune Page?
That all depends on how familiar you are with all of the Rune combinations for every champion. If you are familiar, then you don’t need to have more than one Rue Page. This is because Runes are made available to be edited when you select your champion. Those gamers who have more than one page do so because they take more time in other parts of the champion select phase. When you’re able to personally customize those Rune Pages, it will make you more prepared for a specific matchup.
Alternative Ways You Can Get More Rune Pages
As of right now, there are no alternative ways for you to obtain more Rune pages in League of Legends if you’re from the major regions. You can only buy the Rune pages from the LoL store using either RP or BE. However, if you use the Garena servers, there’s a method for getting Rune Pages without needing to spend BE or RP. Through the Garena mobile app called Garena Spin, you will have a chance to win some Blue Essence, Icons, Pages, or Ward Skin on what is referred to as the Wheel of fortune.
