There are many different types of Akali builds, but the one we want to talk about is Divine Sunderer. This build has some similarities with other Akali builds and its own set of strengths and weaknesses. The goal is to get as much Attack Damage as possible for maximum damage output in a short amount of time.
With the benefits from Divine Sunderer, we started thinking about what other heroes might benefit from it. Akali seemed like a good choice because she requires sustain, makes use of auto attacks after abilities, and has strong attack damage ratios. Her other popular mythic items are Hextec Rocketbelt, Nigh Harvester, and Rfitmaker.
Other fans have already tested this item on Akali, owing to its frequent usage in Season 11, but it can still do wonders in Season 12! Her output damage from this equipment is greater than other AP Mythic items like the Hextech Rocketbelt or Riftmaker, which only provide health and AD bonuses. Divine Sunderer just gives health and AD stats, but it doesn’t actually provide any AP.
Because Akali’s kit interacts with AD stats, you won’t have to worry about being short on damage when utilizing this item. Additionally, Divine Sunderer’s armor-piercing/magic resistance penetration is ideal for this champion because it increases the power of Sheen’s passive as well as her abilities.
The disadvantage of this build is that Akali has to auto between casting abilities in order to get the most damage out of them. As a result, practicing a lot and being able to execute Akali combos effectively will be essential for utilizing Divine Sunderer effectively as well as fluently.

If the enemy is building MR, you should go for these items:
- Divine Surrenderer
- Ravenous Hydra
- Sorcerer’s Shoes

If, however, you notice your enemies opting to go for HP instead, all you need to do is swap out Void Staff for Demonic Embrace, which applies a pretty neat “cursed” effect on any target you hit.

Abilities Order for Divine Sunderer Akali
Of course, you’re always going to prioritize maxing your Q, as it’s your main damage ability. One point in your W is enough until the late game, so your 2nd priority should be maxing your E. Putting in points in your Ultimate at levels 6/11/16 goes without saying.
Conclusion
Divine Sunderer is a superior item on Akali than the popular Riftmaker. A better build path, AD/AP damage, extra damage, healing, durability, superior Mythic passive, and higher win rates are what make this item so damn good. Damage is shifted away from abilities and toward auto attacks in this case. The item costs only 100 gold extra as well. (Compared to Riftmaker)
