Top 5 Best Low Elo Mid Laners in League of Legends

With over 100M players in the game, it’s becoming increasingly challenging to climb the ranks. Every Elo level has become oversaturated with people, making the ladder a chaotic and toxic place. All players play at a particular skill level and are separated in their respective divisions.

The low Elo is a cesspool of toxicity and unenjoyable gameplay and is so detached from the core League experience that it can be viewed as its own thing. To make things easier on yourself, you should seek out to play the best Champions possible in said rank.

That’s where this article comes in, and its aim is to give you the 5 best low Elo Mid Lane Champions. The Mid Lane, being the most impactful role in the game, is vitally important. From this position players can leave an impact on the entire map singlehandedly, and Mid is just as important as the Jungle.

The following Champions all excel greatly in low Elo, for a plethora of reasons. We’ve covered the other roles as well and you should check those articles out.

Having a better grasp on the low Elo mentality and what works will tremendously help you climb out of that mess.

So, without further ado, let’s begin!

    5. Yasuo

Though very mechanically demanding and not nearly as easy as the previous entry, Yasuo is one of the best Champions in League of Legends. His potential to solo-carry while also being a tremendous team fighter is unparalleled. Despite my hatred for him, Yasuo is a fantastic Champion with tons of potential.

Yasuo takes a while to get used to and learn properly. But, in the end, all of your efforts will be paid off. As soon as you master Yasuo’s meticulous combat mechanics, you’ll notice a net positive increase in your wins. As a Mid Laner, he will have a consistent presence across the map, leading to some insane impact on the game.

If he gets fed early enough, he can almost act as a Jungler. He’ll be going around the Lanes, roaming and helping out others. While seeking to increase his power, Yasuo also feeds his allies. This is where his incredible balance between solo-carrying and team play really shines through. I love how Yasuo can singlehandedly make his team stronger, himself included.

If you start getting into his most profound intricacies, those mechanical skills will carry over to your other Champions, too. This will help you develop yourself as a player, and it will even make your further climbs much easier. A good grasp of the game’s most complicated mechanics exponentially increases your overall skills.

That can only be a good thing.

    4. Veigar

Devastating yet straightforward, Veigar is League’s most evil Yordle with ambitions to take over the world. These ambitions come to fruition as soon as you pick him up in the game. He’s always been a formidable foe, capable of dealing thousands of damage in just a few spell casts. If there ever was a Champion that embodied the “just press R” mentality – it’s Veigar.

Veigar is a traditional Mid Laner who can perform well on Bot. Veigar can snowball exponentially in both roles – no matter if he gets farm or not. Due to his passive functions, Veigar can get extra AP by hitting the enemies with his abilities. Though Mid Veigar can get a lot more through minions, it means that he will snowball in any position he plays.

Everyone knows Veigar’s mid and late games, which are infamously strong. He can easily one-shot people, stun entire teams, and even obliterate multiple opponents simultaneously. He’s an incredible Champion that many people love to hate, myself included.

For all the Mage and Support lovers out there, Veigar is a perfect choice. I highly recommend you give him a try, as you will guarantee a strong damage pick on your roster. What he lacks in mobility, he mitigates through sheer might and utility.

    3. Fizz

This Mage hyper-carry is one of the most powerful Mid Laners around. It’s no wonder he maintains such a high position in the tier lists, as he’s capable of doing so much. Fizz can one-shot, and singlehandedly disrupt entire teams without even breaking a sweat. His Ultimate and combos make him a formidable foe that everyone stays clear of.

With a ton of mobility, Fizz is impossible to catch and counter. He can escape any gank attempt and even turn it around on you. Grabbing a double kill after a double kill is his specialty. What he’s best at, perhaps, is his roaming capacity. Fizz can leave his Lane at any point and grab kills or assists in the other Lanes.

He’ll do this often as his mobility mentioned above is quite the thing. He takes no time to reach any other Lane and will fully realize his potential each time he does. The more kills he gets early, the faster he can end the game. It’s an incredible thing to behold once Fizz gets fed, and I cannot stress the fun of playing an overpowered Fizz.

For Mage and burst lovers, Fizz is a perfect choice. You’ll notice a net positive increase in your wins and LP as soon as you master this fishy menace. He’s a bit complex for the average players, but you’ll get the hang of him in just a few games.

    2. Ahri

Ahri is a dangerous Champion that’s capable of doing much more than could be anticipated. Though she’s not in her hay day, Ahri still remains one of the best Mid Lane Champions ever to be designed. This is, of course, backed up by her ever-increasing popularity which makes her one of the Champions with the most skins. And we know how Riot handles their skin releasing philosophy.

Ahri’s early game is great but nothing unusual. She can effectively farm and stay at a safe distance away from her opponent. With her Q, Ahri can also poke nicely and do solid damage. In terms of sustain, her Q once again comes to her aid. Every now and again, Ahri’s Q will heal her upon doing damage and it can be a lifesaver at times. With true damage, she can turn lethal pretty quickly, making her unapproachable at times.

By the time the late game rolls around, Ahri will have made a significant impact on the match. She loves to roam and will prioritize it as soon as she hits level 6. Some Ahri players, if they see the opportunity, will undertake roaming even earlier. However, in most cases, it’s best to wait for your Ultimate as it’s a massive power spike.

Her mobility earns her notoriety among the community. She’s nigh uncatchable, and loves to jump around a lot, evading almost everything. The “in-and-out” approach to combat is her bread and butter, and she will be doing it very often. Ahri can use her Ultimate to go in, charm or burst an enemy, and safely return to her previous position.

All in all, she’s an amazing Champion that everyone loves to hate. Her popularity isn’t unwarranted and its self-explanatory. I highly recommend you give her a try next time you stumble upon the Mid Lane. Don’t be afraid of her skill shots, you’ll learn them eventually.

    1. Yone

Yone has come up a lot recently in our lists. This is because he seems to have only become even more OP than he originally was. His popularity is soaring, and the Champion is genuinely Riot’s most giant stain upon this game. And that’s not an easy thing to claim, with so many broken messes released in the past few years.

Yone’s early, mid and late games are all equally impressive. He starts off strong, not that much, but he still can do some heavy lifting. By the mid-game, after buying his mythic and maybe more, Yone becomes a nearly unkillable beast. His late-game needs almost no comment, as it’s something that I’ve never seen in my 9 years of playing League.

He can singlehandedly win games and go 1v5 without a scratch most of the time. He’s tough to pin down or disable, managing to escape his death consistently. That damned spell allows him to shred you to pieces and return to safety in a matter of seconds. It’s like Riot combined Zed and Yasuo and thought that was a good design direction.

To say he’s a good Mid Lane Champion is an understatement. He’s the Mid Lane Champion, capable of doing everything you’d ever want. Even with a score of 0/10, he can put up a fight that will leave you scratching your head.

    Conclusion

With so many Champions in the game, it’s challenging to select five of the best. Even when we narrow the selection down by choosing only from a particular pool, it isn’t that easy. To be the best means something, and the Champions listed above are incredible. I would love it if you gave them all a try as they’re unique in every possible aspect.

I hope you’ve found this list informative and fun to read, and I wish you the best on the Summoner’s Rift!
